About this word search
Sword has a W you do not hear, which can surprise a child who is sounding it out. Read it together and let them find the silent letter on the list before searching.
Words in this grid go in two directions only, along a row to the right and down a column. Start with Queen and its QU, a pair of letters that is easy to find.
Afterward, play king and queen at the kitchen table. Your child can make a paper Crown, write one word from the list on it, and rule the house for exactly five minutes.
