About this word search
Mom and Dad are usually among the earliest words a young reader can sound out alone, and both are in this puzzle along with Nana, Baby and Sister. Before you start, let your child say who in their own family goes with each word.
With just three letters apiece, Mom, Dad and Son make an easy opening. Sister is the longest. All ten run across the rows or down the columns, so your child can slide a finger along one line at a time and stop at the right letter.
When the puzzle is done, open a photo album or scroll through some pictures together, and match each word to a real person in your family.
