About this word search
Twenty colours give older children room to argue about shades, such as whether Navy is simply dark blue or where Lilac stops and Violet takes over. Those small debates are half the reason to do this one at the kitchen table.
Words run across, down and diagonally here, though none of them is reversed, so each reads normally once you spot it. Turquoise is the longest and holds the uncommon letter Q, which makes it a handy starting point. Grey is spelt with an E in Australia, worth pointing out to children who see the other spelling online.
Gold, Silver and Cream lead neatly into a chat about which colours are named after metals, which after food and which after flowers.
