About this word search

Many colour names on this list started life as something else. Ochre is an earth pigment that Aboriginal artists have used for many thousands of years, Salmon pink and Apricot are borrowed from the kitchen, and Fuchsia takes its name from a flowering plant.

The grid hides words in all eight directions, reversed ones too. Primary colour and Colour wheel are printed as single strings, so look for PRIMARYCOLOUR and COLOURWHEEL, with the Australian OU in both. Khaki, with its K and H side by side, is a quick find once you know the shape to look for.

Art teachers can follow up by asking students to mix a few of these shades from red, yellow and blue, then label the results.
