About this word search
Grey is the British spelling, with an E, while American English uses gray. Turquoise is named after the stone, which was once thought to come from Turkey, and Crimson comes from the name of a red dye made from insects.
Turquoise and Crimson are the longest and good anchors. Words in this fourteen by fourteen grid lie across, down or diagonally, never reversed. Red, Navy and Gold are short.
In an art lesson, children can make a colour chart with a swatch for each word, which shows that Lilac and Violet are not quite the same.
