About this word search

Three of the trees on this list are named for their bark. Paperbark peels off in soft layers, Ironbark is hard and deeply furrowed, and Stringybark comes away in long fibres. Billabong, a word borrowed from an Aboriginal language, means a pool left behind when a river changes course, and it turns up in Waltzing Matilda.

Hidden names can point backwards, forwards, up, down or along either diagonal. Sugar glider and Leaf litter run as single strings without a space. The Y in Stringybark and Canopy is a useful starting point, as is the double L in Grevillea.

Older students on a school camp could take the list on a walk and record which plants and animals they actually find.
