About this word search

The axolotl is a Mexican salamander that keeps its feathery gills as an adult, and it has become a popular, if demanding, pet. It shares the list with the Bearded dragon, the Stick insect and the Chinchilla, a long way from the hamster in its cage.

This grid is eighteen by eighteen and words can lie in any of eight directions. Start with the X in Axolotl, then the long two-word entries such as Scratching post and Hamster wheel, which lose their spaces. Cat flap and Dog bed are short and much harder.

For a pet-loving teenager it makes a decent quiz as well: pick five animals from the list and name one thing each needs that the others do not.
