About this word search
The Stanley Cup is named after Lord Stanley of Preston, a Governor General of Canada who donated the trophy, and it was first awarded in 1893. The names of the winning players are engraved on it, and each member of the winning team gets a day with the Cup.
In this grid, words lie across, run down or slant, and none reads backwards. Stanley Cup, Power play and Blue line are written without spaces. Net and Puck are short, so search for them last.
After a game, ask your young player to explain a Power play or a Faceoff in their own words. Kids who play minor hockey often know more of the rules than the adults expect.
