About this word search

Slovakia and Slovenia differ by only a few letters, as do Latvia and Lithuania, and both pairs regularly trip up adults as well as students. Iceland has a Canadian connection: Gimli, Manitoba, was settled by Icelandic immigrants in the 1870s and still holds an Icelandic festival each summer.

Names point in all eight compass directions on this big sheet, back to front included. LIECHTENSTEIN is the longest single name, and NORTHMACEDONIA and VATICANCITY appear as solid runs. Malta and Wales are short and easy to lose.

Students revising for a geography test can write the capital of each country beside its name once the grid is finished.
