About this word search
In Australia the round-ball game is usually called soccer, because footy tends to mean Australian rules or rugby league. The Matildas drew huge crowds when Australia co-hosted the 2023 Women's World Cup with New Zealand, and many young players still talk about those matches.
Words in this grid are kicked across, down or diagonally, and none of them goes backwards. Substitute and Goalkeeper are the longest. Goal sits inside Goalkeeper, so check that you circle the short word on its own too. Red card, Half time and Free kick appear as one unbroken string.
Coaches can hand it out at the start of a training session to check whether the younger players know the rules behind the words.
